What is the Difference Between Bonding Mortar and Cement Mortar

Different Types of Mortar

1. Adhesive mortar

Adhesive mortar is a kind of mortar which is mechanically mixed with cement, quartz sand, polymer cement and various additives.

2. Cement mortar

Cement mortar is made of cement, fine aggregate and water, that is, cement + sand + water, according to the needs of the mortar, cement mixed mortar is made of cement, fine aggregate, lime and water.

Different Uses

1. Adhesive mortar

It is used for the bonding of polystyrene board, rock wool board, extruded plastic board and other insulation boards on the inner wall, outer wall and ceiling.

2. Cement mortar

In construction engineering, one is for foundation and wall masonry, and it is used as an adhesive for block masonry materials, such as cement mortar for masonry and red bricks; the other is for indoor and outdoor plastering.

Different Precautions for Use

1. Adhesive mortar

1) After the bonding mortar is mixed in proportion, the viscosity of the mortar can be adjusted according to the construction site conditions.

2) The temperature of the construction environment and the base wall should not be lower than 5°C, and the wind force should be below level 5. Avoid construction in rainy days.

3) When pasting the insulation board, knead and press evenly, and do not slap and vibrate.

2. Cement mortar

When cement mortar is used, it is often mixed with some additives such as microfoam, waterproof powder, etc. to improve its workability and viscosity.

Concrete is made by adding stones in proportion to the cement mortar.
